Inspired by biomedical researchers, data scientists, engineers, and the communities that support them, we work to enhance human health by leading borderless initiatives and practical cross-silo collaborations.
Our Mission
Our Vision
We envision a problem-solving community focused on cross-silo approaches to help build a thriving biotech community in Westchester.
Our initiatives leverage opportunities for collaboration across borders, industries, and scientific cultures from genomics to population health.
We are locally focused on global engagement and believe in radical inclusion.
Westchester Biotech Project, launched by Michael Welling and Joanne Gere in 2017, is inspired by the life-saving medical treatment Michael’s son received as an infant for a rare cancerous condition.
The treatment required significant international collaboration and research to devise a treatment plan, and while his son survived due to a cutting-edge treatment, Michael saw others die from this disease.
Matthew is a robust teenager now, thanks to the front-line collaboration of researchers, international bone marrow donors, and daring physicians.
